Hi, Im Mr. Smee... and this is my story.

Hi everyone! My name is **Mr. Smee**. Im an **8-month-old Maltipoo mix **, and I weigh only about **8 pounds**.

I'm already **neutered, up to date on my vaccines, microchipped, crate trained. My foster family says I'm a smart little guy who's ready for my forever home.

I travel from south California to Ridgefield, WA to live with my foster family and ready for adoption. I also can travel to Vancouver, BC if there is a potential family for me.

Here is my story:

I'm still just a puppy, but my life didn't start the way a puppy's life should.

I lived with 12 other dogs in a tiny **10x10 pen**. There wasn't much room to run, play, or learn what it felt like to be someone's little baby.

My beautiful white coat became so badly matted that you could barely see the little dog underneath. I was covered in fleas and ticks, and I even had painful foxtails stuck deep inside my fur.

Then one day, everything changed.

**I was rescued.**

One of my first stops was the groomer. I probably didn't understand why these new people were touching me or what all those strange sounds were, but somehow I knew they were there to help me.

My fur was too badly matted to save, so they gently shaved it all off and you can see my new look in the video.

And guess what?

**All the groomers fell in love with me!**

They couldn't believe how calm and sweet I was through everything. I stood there patiently while they shaved away my old, painful coat, cleaned me up, and helped me feel comfortable again.

With every piece of matted fur that came off, it felt like a little piece of my old life was disappearing too.

The fleas were gone.
The ticks were gone.
The painful mats were gone.

And underneath all of that was **ME.**

A tiny little puppy ready for a fresh start.

My hair may be very short right now, but it will grow back. And when it does, it will be soft, fluffy, clean and beautiful — just like the new life Im beginning.

I'm still learning how to be a puppy. Toys are new to me. Running around just for fun is new to me. Having people pet me, hold me and tell me I'm a good boy is new to me too.

Sometimes I'm a little shy when I first meet someone. Please don't take it personally. I'm just learning that people can be kind. Give me a little time, speak softly to me, and let me come to you.

Once I know I'm safe, you'll start seeing the playful, happy little boy hiding inside me.

I'm **neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccinated and up to date on my vaccinations.**

Now I have just one more dream.

I want a family of my very own.

A family who will look at me and see more than the little shaved puppy I am today. Someone who will see the fluffy white Maltipoo I'm going to become — and, more importantly, the sweet little heart underneath all that fur.

I left my old coat and my old life behind at the groomer.
