Hi, my name is Mel! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Snuggly, athletic
-Can Live with Kids: Unknown history with kids so we are recommending dog-savvy teens (13 years plus).
-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history with cats so a slow and supervised introduction would be required.
-Can Live with Dogs: No Thanks, pending further testing at WHS.
-Can do Apartment Living: No thanks, Mel would prefer a home with a large yard!
-Potty Trained: Seems to be.
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Not required but highly recommended.
-Energy Level: High
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes a neuter
-Additional Information: Mel is looking for a loving forever family! This boy is full of energy and thrives when he has space to move, play, and engage both his body and mind. He is looking for an active adopter who can keep up with him and provide the structure he needs to succeed.

Mel would do especially well in a home with herding breed experience. He’s a smart dog who benefits from guidance, consistency, and outlets for his natural instincts. Whether it’s long walks, hikes, or interactive training sessions, Mel is happiest when he has a job to do and a person to bond with.

In new situations, Mel can be a bit shy and unsure at first. He may need some patience and reassurance as he adjusts to unfamiliar environments. But once he feels safe, his true personality shines—he’s incredibly silly, affectionate, and loves to snuggle up with his people.
