Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time***

We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.


Cricket, 6 months, spayed female, Chihuahua mix, 6 pounds. We anticipate her growing a little bit more, but as you can see she will be on the small size when full grown. She is in a foster home in Houston, Texas.

Don’t let her tiny size fool you—this little girl has a BIG personality! She is a spunky, happy, affectionate pup who seems to have absolutely no idea just how small she is. She approaches life with confidence, curiosity, and plenty of playful energy, and she is always ready to have a good time.

When it comes to other dogs, she is a high-energy, enthusiastic playmate who loves to romp and have fun. She has played with dogs ranging from tiny 11–20 lb pups all the way up to dogs over 100 lbs, and she does a great job recognizing when another dog is finished playing. She is completely friendly with other dogs and may occasionally bark simply because she wants their attention. On leash, however, she is wonderfully neutral and calm when she sees other dogs.

She is just as happy playing with her humans as she is playing with her canine friends. She enjoys toys, loves attention, and is a total cuddle bug when playtime is over. One of her favorite things is burrowing under a blanket with her foster and snuggling up close. She can also happily entertain herself under the covers, although if given the choice, she would much rather be snuggled right next to her favorite person.

And then there are the clothes. She actually seems to love wearing clothes, and putting an outfit on her often results in an immediate case of the zoomies. It's almost as if she knows she looks adorable and needs to show everyone!

She is excited and friendly when meeting new people and loves riding in the car. Stairs aren't scary to her, although she sometimes has a little difficulty navigating them simply because she's so tiny.

She has moderate exercise needs and would be perfectly happy in either an active household or a quieter home. She does not need another dog to be happy, though she certainly wouldn't complain about having a canine playmate. She can also be left crated while her family is away and has done well in her crate.

She is house-trained as long as she stays on a consistent schedule. Continuing to reinforce her potty routine will be important in her new home. Because she is still young, she should not yet be left loose and unsupervised in the house.

She has shown no issues with food, treats, bones, or toys and does not need to be fed separately from other pets. Her experience with cats and children has not been directly tested, but there is no reason to expect an issue with children of any age. With very young children, keeping her nails trimmed will help prevent accidental scratches during her enthusiastic play.

The Bottom Line

She is outgoing, curious, playful, smart, silly, affectionate, and full of personality—everything except serious! She is the kind of little dog who makes herself impossible to ignore. Whether she's zooming around in her favorite outfit, wrestling with a big dog, playing with her humans, or burrowing under a blanket for a cuddle, she is happiest when she is part of the action.

She would do well in just about any loving home. If you're looking for a tiny dog with a huge personality, a playful spirit, and an impressive talent for snuggling, this little girl may be exactly who you've been waiting for!


Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation.
