Missy is a 7‐year‐old Chihuahua/Beagle mix who’s fully grown at just 9 pounds—but don’t let her size fool you, she’s got a big heart and an even bigger love for being close to her people. Missy is the definition of a lap dog: happiest when she’s tucked into your arms or curled up beside you, soaking up all the affection she can get.

She’s polite and easygoing with other dogs, cats, and children, though she prefers companions who share her calm, laid‐back vibe. Missy isn’t one for chaos—she’s a connoisseur of cozy naps, gentle walks, and spending time with her favorite people. Her ideal home is one where she can enjoy her leisure lifestyle surrounded by love, a soft spot to rest, and a yummy snack here or there.

HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life!
