Meet Astrid, a beautiful one-year-old, 35-pound medium-sized mixed breed who appears to have some type of herding dog in the mix.
Astrid came to us from Fresno after arriving at the shelter with her unhoused owner. Sadly, her person was unable to take her back, leaving this young girl behind with an uncertain future. Thankfully, Astrid made her way to us, and now she’s ready to find the family she deserves.
Astrid is truly a sweet soul. She is gentle, affectionate and seems to like everyone she meets. She is also smart, eager to please and very food motivated, which makes her a fantastic candidate for someone who enjoys training and wants to build a strong bond with their dog.
We suspect Astrid had very little formal training during her first year of life, so she is still learning some of the basics. She would thrive with structure, consistency and someone excited to continue showing her the ropes. She wants to learn and, more importantly, she wants to be with her person.
Astrid is dog friendly and would love to have a canine buddy in her new home. Her ideal family would have a house with a securely fenced yard, a flexible schedule and an active lifestyle. At just a year old, she has plenty of energy and would make an incredible walking, hiking and adventure companion.
This is a dog who has spent the beginning of her life without much stability, but you would never know it from her loving personality. Astrid is ready to learn what it feels like to have a home, a routine and people who are hers forever.
If you’re looking for a smart, loving, medium-sized dog who can join you on adventures and then come home and be your loyal companion, Astrid might be your perfect match.
