This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Meet Harper Happy, an approx. 1-year-old Cattle Dog mix, weighing approx. 40 pounds (as of 7/6/26). House painters found her in the middle of nowhere on a common dumping ground in North Carolina. That's certainly no place for a happy girl like her! Even though she was scared when she was found, she's warming up and hoping to find her fur-ever family.

When it comes to living life, this girl is all about Rock n' Roll! Her spirit is unmatched and easily rivals any rock band! Don't be surprised if you see Harper doing a spontaneous guitar solo! She's a sweet girl who ejoys playing with other young dogs and can spend hours just having fun. That's the way life should be!

She's lived with cats but hasn't met kids yet and hopes they'll share her zest for life! Harper would do best in an active household, she'd be a great hiking/running companion. With some training, she could learn lots of commands and tricks since she's such a smart girl. While she does love to snuggle, she'll match the fun energy of any dogs at her future home.

The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
