Meet Noah, a 5-year-old Yorkie/Maltese mix, weighing 16 pounds (as of 6/25/26). He was unfortunately surrendered by his elderly owner who could no longer take care of him. While he'll always love his previous owner, he's excited to leave Mississippi and find a cozy home in New England! No ark required!
Noah is loving and full of energy. He's the perfect balance of playfulness and snuggles for families that love a good adventure but also love to stay home and be lazy. Noah won't judge! This friendly boy is socialized and enjoys being around people, making him a wonderful addition. When he's not playing fetch, exploring, or cuddling up, he's ready to follow you around like an adorable shadow. According to his foster, he's not destructive so that's also a win-win!
This super sweet lap dog loves children and is great with other dogs, though not so much with cats. No offense, kitties! Noah is also great on a leash and is easier to house-train since he prefers to go outside anyway. He just asks that his future family has patience with him once he adjusts to your home. But you'll be so enamored by his cuteness, you won't even mind! While he doesn't know commands or have experience with crates, he does have an awesome skill: carpentry! That birdhouse you've been wanting to build can now become a reality! Woo-hoo!
Noah's waiting! Adopt him today!
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
