For six wonderful years, Gus was someone's loyal shadow — a beloved companion with a steady heart and a gentle soul. When life took an unexpected turn, Gus found himself needing a new beginning, through absolutely no fault of his own. Now this handsome Boykin Spaniel is ready to start fresh... and he's hoping his next chapter begins with you.

At 32 pounds, Gus is the perfect Goldilocks size — not too big, not too small, just right for couch snuggles, car rides, and everyday adventures.

DogFriendly & Social
Gus does beautifully with other dogs and enjoys their company. He appreciates introductions that are calm and thoughtful, but once hes comfortable, hes a happy, social guy. If hes joining a home with another dog, an adaptable female companion would be his best match.

Gus came into rescue heartworm-positive, but he's a champ — he completed his treatment and is now healthy, neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and officially ready for his forever family.

Although currently this dog is being fostered at our Rescue Ranch near Houston, TX, he can be brought close to your home on rescue transport which comes through your area once a month. Transport info below.

Adoption fee is $425 plus $30 for a health certificate and $260 for transport.

Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will be updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.
