If Dogs Could Choose Their Families, Max Would Choose Yours.
Some dogs demand attention when they enter a room.
Max simply walks in, lies down beside you, and somehow makes everything feel a little calmer.
At just a year and a half old and 87 pounds, this handsome Great Pyrenees/Labrador mix is the definition of a gentle giant. With his soulful eyes, soft nature, and adorable double dewclaws on his back feeta special Great Pyrenees traitMax is impossible not to love.
But what makes Max truly special isn't his size or his good looks.
It's his heart.
Max loves people. He loves other animals. He loves quiet moments spent with the people he cares about. He's respectful, well-mannered, and never causes a fuss. In fact, those caring for him have only heard him bark a handful of times. While many dogs demand to be the center of attention, Max is perfectly content simply being part of the family.
And if there's one thing that makes his eyes light up?
Car rides.
Tell Max it's time to go for a ride and suddenly the world becomes an adventure. Whether it's a trip across town or just a drive with the windows cracked, he's happy simply being your co-pilot.
Life hasn't always been easy for Max. Recently neutered and currently undergoing heartworm treatment, he's faced challenges that would make some dogs withdraw.
Not Max.
Through it all, he has remained gentle. Trusting. Loving.
The kind of dog who still believes people are good.
The kind of dog who rests his head beside you and makes you wonder how anyone could ever let him go.
Some dogs are looking for excitement.
Max is looking for a family.
A family to ride shotgun with.
A family to spend quiet evenings beside.
A family that will cherish the calm, loyal soul hiding inside this big fluffy body.
Somewhere out there is a home with an empty spot on the couch, an extra seat in the car, and a family that doesn't yet realize they are missing Max.
We'd really like to help them find each other.
From Mark (Twilight Tails): I have a rescued Golden that we've never heard bark in 3 years....Our Romy has the sweetest heart. We've learned dogs are like people, some don't feel a need to talk much but show their love with their eyes, their paw on your lap or the occasional kiss. I have a feeling Max is one of those dogs people fall in love with in person. The quiet ones often wait longer than they should, but when they finally get adopted, it's usually by someone who says, "That's my dog," the moment they meet him.
