This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Meet Steve, a 6-month-old Boxer / Mountain Cur mix, weighing 39.2 pounds (as of 9/16/26). Steve wasn't having too much fun as a stray in Tennessee so he decided to see what New England is all about!

What can we say about Steve? Has a weirdly human name? Yup. Goofy? Sure. Friendly and energetic? Yup and yup. Good with kids and other dogs? Absolutely.

This silly boy loves toys and balls and just wants to be loved on and played with. He is very likable and we're not just saying that because he told us to mention it! Steve is doing well with crates and leashes, though we're not sure if he's housebroken. He's been exposed to cats and seems to ignore them, but of course, any introduction should be taken with care.

The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
