This girl's trying to make fetch happen! Meet Gretchen, a 2-year-old Lab / American Bulldog mix, weighing 50 pounds (as of 9/13/26). Did you know her dad invented the toaster strudel? Rumor is she was a stray in Tennessee but she's really puff-pastry royalty!

Sure, the Burn Book says something totally different, but Gretchen is a wonderful girl and truly great. She's sorry that people are so jealous of her, but she can't help it that she's so popular! In fact, Gretchen is loving, playful, respectful and a great all around dog. Kids love her, other dogs want to be her, and strangers can't get enough! She's even good with cats (even though they wear sweatpants.) You couldn’t ask for a sweeter dog. But she does wonder why she didn't get a candy cane gram from Regina George even though she was her best friend for years and NEVER shared any of her secrets?! Like how every Thursday she'd meet up with Shane Oman in the projection room above the auditorium?! It's totally not fair and we should totally just stab Caesar!!

Sorry. Where were we? Oh yes! Back to you! Gretchen would like you to know that she walks well on a leash, good with crates and loves to cuddle. She's apparently housebroken as well. Gretchen cannot believe this but Black dogs aren’t the ones people choose to adopt... Crazy, right?! They're CLEARLY the best to love! I mean, who's going to give you wardrobe advice (Wednesdays we wear pink)? Or perform "Jingle Bell Rock" with you at your school's Winter Talent Show? Not any other dog, she can tell you that!

So to quote her ex-friend Regina George: "Get in loser. We're going adopting!"

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

To adopt or learn more about Gretchen you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $495] **

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
