Sweet Elm has been returned twice (once for "not being good with cats" yet he is fine with the cat in his foster home, and once for protecting the yard). He has been in several fosters homes since arriving in Maine and none of his fosters can believe that he has been returned- they have experienced nothing but a beautiful, pleasant, loving dog which we think means that he hasn't found his perfect family yet- he had to be returned to be united with them. He currently lives in a foster home with three kids, lots of dogs, and cats and does great with all. He is crate trained and potty trained as long as you watch his cues and let him out when he signals. He loves to play and snuggle and his foster mom says that he is an overall good boy. He would likely do well with another dog in the home. He does have Anatolian in his breed which is a guardian breed although his foster hasn't seen any sign of guarding- we just like people who are interested in adopting to be aware of the breed. Elm is here in Maine and available for meet and greets with approved adopters.
If you think you might be interested in adopting Elm or just want to get pre-approved to adopt through us, please fill out an application on our website. Approvals are valid for one year and you will not have the waiting period of an application if you see a dog that you like! Approved adopters are placed on our email list for each transport and receive our Google slides that we send to all pre-approved adopters before posting on Petfinder and our social media and are eligible to attend our meet and greet events.
