With a name like Alice Cooper, you might expect a rock star attitude. While this handsome boy certainly has the good looks of a celebrity, underneath it all is a cat who's simply looking for a second chance and a loving place to call home.
Alice Cooper came to us through no fault of his own after his beloved owner suffered a serious health issue and was no longer able to care for him. Faced with an incredibly difficult decision, the owner's family brought him to our shelter so he could be safe, cared for, and hopefully find another family to love him just as much.
We weren't given much information about his background, but we estimate that Alice Cooper is around three years old. What we do know is that this poor guy's world has been turned upside down.
The shelter is doing its best to care for him, but it's clear that Alice Cooper is grieving the loss of the only home and person he's ever known. Shelters are loud, busy, and scary places, and that's especially hard on a cat who has spent his life in the comfort and security of a home. He's doing his best, but what he really needs is a patient family willing to help him remember that life can be good again.
Alice Cooper has lived a somewhat sheltered life. He hasn't had experience with other cats, dogs, or children, and for most of his life, his owner was his primary companion. Despite that limited exposure, he's a genuinely sweet boy who enjoys affection and appreciates kindness. Once he feels comfortable, you can see the loving cat behind those worried eyes.
Like most cats, Alice Cooper also knows what he likes and what he doesn't. If something makes him uncomfortable, he isn't afraid to voice his opinion with a hiss or an occasional swat. Because of this, he'd probably be happiest in a home with older children or adults who understand and respect feline boundaries. We think he'd do especially well with adopters who have previous cat experience and understand that some cats need a little extra time to settle in and trust.
We can easily picture him perched atop a tall cat tree, gazing out the window as he keeps watch over the neighborhood birds. We can also tell you that if you're looking for a shortcut to his heart, canned food is the answer. This good boy is a huge fan and will happily accept your offerings as tribute.
Alice Cooper isn't looking for perfection. He's simply looking for someone willing to give him a chance. Someone who understands that after losing everything familiar, he may need a little time to decompress, adjust, and feel safe again.
We believe that once he finds that special person, this gorgeous boy is going to flourish. If you have a little patience, a cozy window, a cat tree, and a few cans of tasty food, Alice Cooper just might reward you with a lifetime of love.
