DESCRIPTION
Meet Makara and Selkie!
Makara and Selkie came to us when they were found as strays with their mother. After a couple of weeks settle in and building confidence in a foster home, they are now looking for their next adventure as somebody's beloved pet - which they are very much looking forward to!
These kittens love to play! Their favorites include a wand toy with a strip of fleece, the donut shaped tunnel, and a crinkly squirrel. In addition to having lots of energy to expend during play, kittens also have a lot of social needs and often do best with a feline friend. We are hoping they will be adopted together, as they already love each other very much! They often can be found curling up together, cuddling together with their human foster, grooming each other and playing together.
While they may be a little nervous at first with new people and a new environment, sitting on the floor and offering treats or play will help them feel more comfortable. They will want cuddle time even before breakfast! Once comfortable, they will start purring immediately when they see their favorite human.
To continue their path toward becoming well-adjusted adult cats with healthy habits, please plan on having time and energy to also provide a kitten with a lot of opportunities for human playtime and appropriate toys (never fingers or toes!), enriching activities, respectful handling and social interactions. They will thrive with a little patience and guidance, especially when it comes to interacting with other pets and children.
Cats: Makara and Selkie have had brief interactions with an older cat in the foster home and are interested in playing. They may do well with another cat in a new home.
Dogs: Makara and Selkie have had brief interactions with a dog in the foster home and are interested in playing. They may do well with a dog in a new home.
Children: Makara and Selkie have no known history of interacting with children.
