Maverick - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Fort Worth, Texas

Maverick is a huge cuddlebug who loves being close to his people. If there's an available lap, he's happy to claim it, and he's also been known to climb onto a shoulder to get a little closer. When a person isn't available, a soft blanket makes a pretty good substitute.

This sweet boy was bottle-fed as a baby, so he grew up loving and trusting people. He's confident, friendly, and loves attention. He's also playful and has lots of kitten energy, so once cuddle time is over, he's ready to go have some fun.

Maverick especially loves other cats. Although he started out as a bottle baby, he was raised alongside a litter of kittens and became very well socialized. He would love a home with another friendly kitty or two to play and cuddle with.

Maverick probably wouldn't be happiest spending long stretches of time alone. He's a social little guy who really enjoys having company, whether it's human or feline. He's also good with children of all ages.

One of Maverick's cutest features is his slightly crooked smile. He came into rescue with a broken jaw, and although it healed well and isn't expected to cause him long-term problems, it left him with a little bit of extra character in that handsome face.

Maverick's beginning wasn't easy. He was found all alone in a Fort Worth neighborhood with a serious upper respiratory infection and that broken jaw. At first, no one knew what his prognosis would be. But with lots of care, he recovered and grew into the happy, affectionate, playful kitten he is today.

You'd certainly never guess from his personality that Maverick had such a rough start. He loves people, loves other cats, loves to play, and perhaps most of all, loves to cuddle.

At Meowtown, we don't have a traditional, physical shelter - all of our cats live in loving foster homes. That means they are already used to real home life, and we truly know their personalities, habits, and what makes them special. They are safe, socialized, and ready to be part of a family. They're not waiting to become housecats... they already are. They just need a house.

This kitten has not been neutered yet, but is available as Foster2Adopt. You adopt and take the kitten home with you, and we pay for and arrange for neuter later.
