For about a week, Cowgirl stationed herself in a backyard and waited for the homeowners to come to their senses. They eventually did, opened the door, and she came inside!
She is a Bald Headed Roller: A fancy domestic breed named for the crisp white cap against a dark body, giving them the look GLPR volunteers have taken to describing as mini bald eagle. Cowgirls coloring is particularly dramatic: deep black plumage with bold white flight feathers. She knows how beautiful she is. The mirror in her foster home gets regular visits, and she is not apologetic about this!
She also has a big personality and she deploys it freely. Active, opinionated, and fully comfortable treating her foster home as her personal domain, which, from her perspective, it is! She also loves a good blanket. The mirror visits and the blanket time coexist peacefully, which tells you something about her personality range: equal parts bold and cozy, full of opinions and also very content to cozy up and settle down when the mood strikes. Cowgirl is now looking for a home with people who appreciate a bird who arrived already knowing exactly who she is. She will gaze into your mirror, claim your softest blanket, and run the place with great confidence and considerable charm!
