Hello, my name is Pizzelle, and I'm as sweet as the delicious Italian pastry that is my namesake! I am a racing pigeon, and believe it or not... I have been, since 2017! This year wasn't my year, though. I couldn't tell you how many miles I flew, but I had more to go on my journey back to Pennsylvania...

I had a long road ahead of me, and I fought hard and flew far, but ultimately I was overtaken by hunger and sought refuge on the expansive acreage of Fermilab in Batavia. If anyone asks, I was crashing at the particle collider! I am a certified science pigeon. One of the kind scientists on staff at the lab found me and reached out to Great Lakes Pigeon Rescue for help. Since then, I've been eating well and putting on grams!
After all these years of exhaustion and hard work, I am ready to retire! I love roaming my foster's living room and hanging out with my pigeon friends. I am a bit nervous... I'm not quite yet used to being handled by people who love and value me! But I really am eager to meet you, and I hope you understand!
