Pigeon Birds Available for Adoption in Chicago, Illinois

Hi my name is Lucky Calumet. I have a bit of a problem, you see. I’m a penguin trapped in a pigeon’s body. Every day I go up to the mirror excited to see how good I look in my tuxedo, but to my surprise I’m not wearing one! Instead I am wearing city pigeon clothes. My wings are colored like natural rock formations and my full crop is a shiny iridescent green and purple. To top it all off, my tail sticks up–very unpenguinlike. I’ve tried to use my wings and tail to my advantage but flying just isn’t for me. I’d rather be at the top of the highest ski slope ready to race down like a toboggan or on a tropical island catching huge waves. Sometimes I even dream about having secret stealth missions underneath the Central Park Zoo! Though my current situation isn’t all that bad either. I still have happy feet that allow me to dance and waddle around in the way I like and I do not have to live in a zoo and put up with obnoxious lemurs… I’m very grateful for the nice humans at the GLPR who found me practicing my flying in a backyard just to see if I really could be the first penguin to fly. Although they tell me my flight is affected by past neurotrauma, they have done nothing but encourage me in my endeavors! Right now I’m looking for a home that will allow me to be myself and not expect me to fit into the mold of a perfect pengui—I mean pigeon! Like all birds I enjoy seeking out nest materials, companionship, adventures, and food! Think of all the memories we could create together, you (the world’s coolest human) and me (the world’s first pigeon penguin!)
