Integrity was found on the ground as a brand new hatchling and placed with foster pigeon parents Puggy and Fifi, who raised him as their own. Whatever Integrity knows about being a pigeon, he learned from them. Whatever he knows about being safe and cared for by people, he learned from volunteer Natalie. He has had, from his very first days, the experience of being lovingly looked after, and it shows in every part of who he is!
He is a baby still, in the round, fluffy, wide-eyed stage of a young bird who is taking everything in. He has opinions about laps, which he has identified as a superior working surface and claimed accordingly. He can be frequently installed in front of foster Natalie’s laptop with the settled air of a bird who has reviewed the agenda and approved it. He is here. He is comfortable. He does not intend to move anytime soon!
He is also, as a bird with such clear opinions about preferred seating, happy to perch in a hand, content to be held, the kind of baby bird who grew up knowing that people are good and has never had reason to revise that assessment.
Integrity was given his name to live up to. He is doing that already, in the small and daily way of a bird who is simply, consistently, genuinely himself: sweet, trusting, fluffy, and very attached to the concept of a warm lap. He needs a home where someone is around frequently — where laps are available and hands are offered and a young bird who was raised with love can continue being exactly who he already is.
Puggy and Fifi raised him right. Natalie is taking it from there. The right forever home gets to privilege to carry it forward!
