Bird - Yellow Labrador Retriever and Collie Dog for Adoption in VERNON ROCKVL, Connecticut

Bird’s favorite version of a morning starts with a vigorous game of fetch or a good hike, preferably followed by time outside with a canine friend. Once she’s had that outlet, this smart, affectionate girl is remarkably good at switching gears—settling in for a calm day and eventually a great night’s sleep. And when Bird really likes you, don’t be surprised if she offers one of her signature hugs.

At just over a year old and about 50 pounds, Bird is a Lab/Collie mix for adoption who needs a quieter, more spacious environment than city apartment life can provide. Her confidence grows around other dogs, and she is looking for a home with a friendly, active resident dog. She is also tolerant of cats.

Bird can currently stay home comfortably for about three to four hours, particularly after morning exercise, and another dog may help her gradually extend that time. She is very well house trained.

Bird needs an experienced, patient adopter who understands that confinement and unfamiliar people entering her home can trigger defensive behavior, including aggression. A quiet home with room to exercise, thoughtful introductions to visitors, and predictable routines will give her the structure she needs.

For someone hoping to adopt a rescue dog who loves outdoor adventures and canine companionship, Bird is a rescue dog for adoption worth getting to know.

Bird is available for transport to the Vernon, CT area, serving adopters throughout Connecticut and nearby areas. Pickup logistics are arranged at adoption.
