Lucy - Shih Tzu and Poodle Dog for Adoption in VERNON ROCKVL, Connecticut

Lucy has one important job: keeping track of her person. Kitchen, bedroom, office—wherever you go, this calm little shadow is likely padding along behind you, content simply to be nearby. She’s affectionate without demanding the spotlight and happiest sharing the ordinary parts of your day.

At three years old and about 20 pounds, Lucy is a Shih Tzu/Poodle mix for adoption who enjoys leisurely walks and relaxing at home. She plays with the dogs in her foster home and would happily share life with a canine friend, but she’s equally content being your only dog.

Lucy handles some time alone well and is kennel trained, though she appreciates a midday break or somewhat flexible schedule rather than routinely spending a full day by herself. She’s still polishing her potty manners—and there’s one funny complication: Lucy thinks grass is lava. She currently prefers the outdoor patio for potty breaks, so her adopter will need to keep patiently convincing those precious feet that grass really is safe.

If you’d like to adopt a rescue dog who prefers companionship, walks, and a peaceful routine over nonstop excitement, this rescue dog for adoption could be your girl.

Lucy is available for transport to the Asheville, NC area, serving adopters throughout Western North Carolina. Pickup logistics are arranged at adoption.
