Gina - Rat Terrier Dog for Adoption in VERNON ROCKVL, Connecticut

At about 30 pounds, Gina is a petite Rat Terrier mix with a sleek black coat and a personality that is much bigger than her size. She loves her people—men seem to be particular favorites—and sometimes her enthusiasm gets the better of her when she's saying hello. She's still learning that she doesn't have to greet every favorite person with quite so much gusto, but she's smart, responsive, and has excellent recall.

One thing you may not hear much from Gina is her voice. She's surprisingly quiet around the house and isn't a dog who feels the need to comment on everything happening outside. She'll let you know when a car pulls into the driveway and may occasionally announce a stranger at the door, but otherwise she's content to leave neighborhood-watch duties to someone else.

Gina enjoys other dogs but doesn't need a canine sibling to be happy, so she could fit nicely into a home with a compatible dog or soak up all the attention as your one and only. She currently lives with a cat, although her idea of playing together can be a little too enthusiastic for her feline roommate.

She's house-trained, walks well on leash, comes quickly when called, and is continuing to build confidence and polish her greetings outside the home. Gina can handle some time on her own, but she'd be happiest in a household where she isn't regularly left for a very long workday without a break.

If you're looking for a compact companion who's affectionate, responsive, playful without being constantly noisy, and very invested in her people, Gina has a lot to offer.
