Dolly is happiest when life is soft, cozy, and shared with someone she trusts. This curious little girl likes to investigate what’s happening, but she’s gentler and more easygoing than her bolder brother—and once the exploring is finished, snuggling close is exactly where she wants to be. Snacks are also an excellent way to Dolly’s heart.

At two months old and about 9 pounds, Dolly is a Shepherd mix for adoption who is just beginning to discover the world. She enjoys being close to both people and other dogs, and a canine friend gives this more submissive puppy confidence and security. Dolly needs a home with a friendly resident dog who can be her buddy and help her navigate new experiences as she grows.

Her crate has already become one of her favorite safe places. Dolly goes inside voluntarily and sleeps there through the night without accidents—an impressive start for such a young puppy. She’s still learning about being separated from her people, though, so she shouldn’t routinely be left alone for more than three or four hours. A patient adopter can gradually help her build independence as she matures.
