My name is Bear! Yes, BEAR! But before you start imagining a big, scary animal, let me introduce myself properly!

I'm a tiny little 14-pound Terrier mix, about 4 years old, with the most adorable big ears, a scruffy little face, and a heart that's much bigger than my body!

I'm 4 years old, 14 pounds, fully potty trained, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for my next chapter!

I will travel from north California to Ridgefield, WA by the middle of November to live with my foster family and I can travel to Vancouver, BC if there is a potential family for me.

When I meet someone new, I sometimes get a little nervous.

You see, I'm not the kind of boy who immediately runs into everyone's arms. I like to take a moment to figure things out.

Who are you? Are you nice? Will you be gentle with me? Can I trust you?

But here's the wonderful part...

Give me a little patience, a kind voice, and some time to get comfortable, and you'll discover what a sweet, loving little guy I really am!

Once I realize you're my friend, my personality starts to shine, and that shy little Bear begins to come out of his shell!

I promise, getting to know me is worth those few extra minutes!

Let Me Tell You About My Friends!

Oh, I love making friends!

Big dogs? They're cool!

Little dogs? They're my buddies!

Cats? Yep, I like them too!

Kids? Absolutely!

And humans? Of course! I just might need a little time to get to know you first.

I may be a little shy in the beginning, but I have so much love waiting inside my little heart.

They're HUGE!

Sometimes I think my ears might be bigger than the rest of my head!

Maybe I look like a little bat, maybe a tiny fox, or maybe a scruffy little forest creature!

But I think they make me extra special.

And have you seen my adorable little beard?

I like to think it gives me a distinguished gentleman look!

I'm not a fancy purebred dog, and I don't have a glamorous hairstyle.

I'm just Bear.

A scruffy, sweet, slightly shy little boy who wants someone to love him exactly the way he is.

Can I Tell You About My Biggest Dream?

Sometimes I imagine what my forever home might look like.

Maybe there will be a cozy little bed waiting just for me.

Maybe I'll have a doggy brother or sister to keep me company.

Maybe a kitty friend!

Or perhaps I'll be someone's one and only little companion.

I imagine waking up in the morning and seeing the same loving face every day.

Someone who will say, "Good morning, Bear!" and make me feel like the most important little dog in the world.

Someone who will give me time when I'm nervous, encourage me when I'm unsure, and celebrate every little step I take toward becoming more confident.

I don't need a big house.

I don't need expensive toys.

And I certainly don't need anything fancy.
