Hi! My name is Dexter!

I’m 11 months old, about 10 pounds, and I’m a scruffy little wire-haired terrier mix with a VERY big personality packed into a pretty small body.

If you’re looking for a quiet little guy who plans to sit in the corner and watch life go by...

Ummm... that’s probably not me.

Because I LOVE LIFE!

I love playing.

I love exploring.

I love people.

I love being part of whatever is happening.

My rescue family says I have a way of bringing happiness wherever I go.

Maybe it’s my scruffy little face.

Maybe it’s my silly personality.

Or maybe it’s because I wake up every morning thinking today is going to be the BEST DAY EVER!

I'm already neutered, up to date on my vaccines, microchipped and crate trained.

I traveled from northern California to Ridgefield, WA to live with my foster family. I can travel to Vancouver, BC if there is a potential family for me.

Here is my story:

I’m still young, so I have my whole life ahead of me.

And lately, I’ve been wondering what that life is going to look like.

Who will be my person?

Where will I sleep?

Who will take me on adventures?

Whose face will I get excited to see every morning?

Who will laugh at all the silly things I do?

And most importantly...

Who is going to look at me one day and say:

“Dexter, you’re coming home with me.”

Because that’s what I’m waiting for.

Not just a house.

A HOME.

I want to be part of a family.

I want to know your routines.

I want to follow you around and make you laugh.

I want to play until I’m tired, curl up beside you afterward, and wake up the next morning ready to do it all over again.

I want adventures and ordinary days.

Car rides and couch time.

Walks and playtime.

And all those little moments that don’t seem important until you realize they’re the moments that make someone family.
