For eight years, NuNu knew what home felt like. She had her person, her routine, and the comfort of a life she understood.
Unfortunately, her elderly owner reached a point where they could no longer care for her, and with no other options available, NuNu found herself here...
Situations like this are heartbreaking for everyone involved.

When NuNu arrived, we had no room inside, so she spent her first days cozied up outside. Today, we brought her onto the adoption floor, and it was clear just how overwhelming it was for her. The barking, the activity, the unfamiliar surroundings—it was a lot for a girl who had spent years living a quiet life in a home.
She put on the brakes when she came inside and took everything in very carefully. To her credit, she did eventually walk into her kennel and settled in as best she could.

When we took her outside for pictures, she stayed right by our side the entire time. It was actually difficult to get photos because she just wanted to follow us around the play yard. She seems to find comfort being close to people, and her eyes tell a story of a dog trying to figure out why her whole world suddenly changed.

We watched her greet a few passing dogs with gentle tail wags and friendly curiosity. While we have not officially dog tested her, those interactions were encouraging. We have not cat tested her at this time.
We dont know everything about NuNu yet, but we do know shes a sweet senior girl who deserves another chance at a loving home.
We believe she would likely do well with older, respectful children.
Most of all, we know she shouldnt spend her golden years in a crowded shelter.
