Meet #Kaido
Another black dog. Another shelter kennel. Another sweet soul hoping someone will stop scrolling and see him.
Kaido was found as a stray and somehow, despite everything he’s been through, he is one of the kindest boys you’ll ever meet. The first thing we noticed? Those nails. They were so long that this poor guy could hardly walk comfortably. It’s clear life hasn’t always been easy for him, but you would never know it by the way he greets our volunteers—with a wagging tail, gentle eyes, and a heart full of love.
At around 4 years old and 55 pounds, Kaido is the perfect size for adventures, couch cuddles, and everything in between. He has the cutest big blocky head, an adorable oversized nose that just begs for kisses, and a smile that can melt your heart. We swear he looks like the kind of dog who would happily sit beside you while you watch movies, help you with yard work, and then steal your spot on the couch when you’re not looking.
So far, Kaido seems interested and friendly with the dogs he walks past. He enjoys exchanging nose-to-nose greetings, but he has not been officially dog tested yet. He has also not been cat tested. As we continue learning more about him, one thing is already crystal clear—he is a very, very good boy.
Black dogs are often the most overlooked in shelters. They wait longer. They get passed by more often. We hope Kaido’s story is different.
Let his story start here.
Let his next chapter be filled with soft beds instead of concrete floors, belly rubs instead of lonely nights, and a family that loves him the way he deserves.
