Meet Paddington!
If curiosity had four paws and a wagging tail, its name would be Paddington.
Born to Mama Bear, a young Belgian Malinois/Black Mouth Cur mix who was struggling to raise her puppies outdoors on a rural Louisiana property without proper food or veterinary care, Paddington's future was uncertain from the very beginning. After Take Paws Rescue welcomed the little family into safety, a devastating parasite burden swept through the litter, leaving several puppies fighting for their lives. Thanks to exceptional veterinary care, devoted fosters, and Mama Bear's incredible determination, Paddington and his siblings survived and are now healthy, happy, and ready to find families of their own.
Paddington is mostly black with bright, alert eyes that never seem to miss a thing. Life is one big adventure, and he intends to experience every second of it.
A ball rolls across the floor? Paddington is after it.
A sock drops out of the laundry basket? It's his now.
Did you accidentally drop your keys, a toy, or just about anything else? Paddington has already claimed it and is racing away with his prize before anyone else has a chance.
His favorite place, though, isn't across the room-it's wherever you are.
The moment he sees you, he's asking, "Up, up, up, please!" because he simply has to know what you're doing. What do you have in your hand? Can he help? Is it a toy? Is it a snack? Does this mean it's time to play? To Paddington, his humans are endlessly fascinating, and he'd much rather be involved in whatever you're doing than entertain himself.
Like any teething puppy, he's still learning that fingers aren't chew toys ("But they taste so yummy!") and that tugging gently on your sleeve isn't the best way to ask for attention ("But...how else will you know I want to be with you?"). Thankfully, he's a smart little guy who responds well to gentle guidance and is eager to learn.
And once his busy little brain has finally worn him out, the sweetest side of Paddington appears. He'll climb into your lap, tuck himself beneath your chin, cover you with puppy kisses, and silently ask, "Mind if I snooze here for a while?" Before long, that energetic little whirlwind becomes a warm, snuggly bundle of fluff, perfectly content to fall asleep in the arms of someone he loves.
Paddington is playful, affectionate, endlessly entertaining, and absolutely devoted to his people. He'll make you laugh with his mischievous antics, keep you on your toes with his curiosity, and melt your heart with his cuddles.
If you're looking for a puppy who wants to be your constant sidekick, your shadow, your playmate, and your snuggle buddy all rolled into one adorable package, Paddington is ready to pack his little paws and head home with you.
