*As a NorthCountry Star, Buddy's care at HSCC is sponsored by our animal-loving friends at NorthCountry Federal Credit Union for the month of September, and his adoption includes a gift bag + $50 gift certificate to the HSCC Shelter Shop. Thank you, NorthCountry Federal Credit Union!*
Sweet and soulful - just look at those eyes!
Adventure ready, but also happy to relax around the house on a lazy day off
If HSCC had a yearbook, Buddy would be voted class clown
Meet Buddy!
Buddy originally came into the care of HSCC when his guardians could no longer care for him. He is a hound through-and-through, and is ready for whatever adventures come his way!
This boy is looking for a sidekick and partner-in-crime, and will give back the love he receives hundred-fold. Wherever you go, Buddy will be right there with you! He is full of young, mischievous energy, and is incredibly good-natured at heart. Whether you're looking for a companion to explore all of Vermont's natural beauty with, or an infinite source of laughter and snuggles, Buddy is your guy!
He showed some mild separation anxiety in his previous home, and does best if managed with baby gates or by having his own dog proofed space. Buddy is two years old, and is still working on his manners and life skills. He would benefit from a positive-reinforcement based training methodology that can meet him where he's at, and help show him how the world works in a fear-free way.
Dogs: Buddy is dog social! He can have a hard time knowing when other dogs no longer want to play, so needs ongoing guidance from his people. We are happy to arrange a dog introduction at HSCC if you have a resident canine looking for a friend.
Cats: Buddy has lived with dog-savvy cats in the past and has done well.
Kids: Buddy has a positive history with children. Due to his size and energy level, he will most likely thrive in a home with older children, teenagers, and adults.
