Meet Candy (aka Girly Pop)! This loving, sweet, playful, girl is moderate energy and thoroughly people-oriented — she's wonderfully adaptable, handling new situations with ease and greeting new people and dogs alike with genuine enthusiasm. She's excited and sweet right from the first hello with new people, a bit cautious at first with other dogs before her curiosity takes over, and though her feline compatibility is unknown, she settles in nicely alongside resident dogs when kenneled together. She's excited when guests come over, and while she may whine a little at first when left alone, she settles in quickly.
Candy is potty trained and flexible with pads or outdoor breaks, and while she's not fully crate trained (she'd rather not be crated when people are home), she'll happily use it as a retreat when things feel like a lot. She walks on leash at her own relaxed, leisurely pace, and though she doesn't know formal commands, she knows her name well. Her days are simple and content — indoor play with stuffed toys or a few short walks — and she has a especially sweet ritual of bringing her stuffed animals to the couch to play with each one before settling down for the night. At 9 years old, she's settled comfortably into her personality with nothing major left to work on. Candy would do best as an only dog or with a companion in a moderate, apartment-friendly household, ideally with a single person or couple who'll enjoy her constant company — she loves giving kisses, follows her people from room to room, and curls up right by your leg. She's ready to be someone's devoted, affectionate best friend.
