We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

Leonard "Lonnie", 9 weeks (estimated DOB July 2026), male, Pitbull Terrier mix, estimated to be a medium/large size when full grown. He's in a foster home in Austin, Texas.

Lonnie and his family were brought to a local shelter in Houston. There are simply too many dogs needing placement and like many animals in Texas this family was facing euthanasia. We were able to get them into foster care and now that the puppies are old enough, they can begin their search for forever homes. His mom weighs about 45 pounds, but since we don't know all that's mixed with we don't know how big he will grow.

Meet Lonnie, a little bundle of curiosity, discovery, and puppy-sized adventures! At just 9 weeks old, Lonnie is busy exploring the world, learning new things, chewing on just about everything, and growing a little more each day. Everything is an adventure at this age, whether it's discovering a new toy, investigating a new smell, or figuring out what those little paws can get into next!

Lonnie is at the beginning of an exciting journey, and his future family will have the privilege of helping shape the wonderful adult dog he will become. Like all young puppies, he will need patience, consistency, supervision, positive reinforcement, and plenty of opportunities to learn about the world around him.

Lonnie is looking for a family who understands that raising a puppy is a commitment, especially during these important early developmental months.

Someone home a large part of the day: Puppies this young need frequent potty breaks, supervision, socialization, and interaction. If you work outside the home for 5 or more hours daily, we will not screen your application.

Breed knowledge: We are looking for adopters who understand the breed's characteristics, needs, and responsibilities and are prepared to be a positive ambassador for the breed.

Training and socialization: Lonnie will need continued exposure to new people, places, sounds, experiences, and appropriate canine interactions.

Patience with puppyhood: Expect chewing, potty-training accidents, interrupted sleep, and plenty of learning opportunities. These are normal parts of growing up!

A lifelong commitment: Lonnie deserves a family prepared to guide him through every stage of life, not just the adorable puppy stage.

If you have the time, dedication, and breed knowledge to help Lonnie grow into a confident, well-mannered companion, he is ready to start his next adventure with you!

Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation.

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
