Meet Scout

Scout is a 60-pound 1 year old female Pit mix with a gentle soul, a playful side, and so much love waiting to come out once she knows shes safe.

Scout was found as a stray, so we dont know everything she experienced before coming to us. What we do know is that new people and environments can be a little scary for her at first. Shes timid and needs time to settle in, but she has never shown fear aggression—when shes nervous, she simply needs space and reassurance to figure things out at her own pace.

Once Scout starts feeling comfortable, you get to see her adorable personality shine. She absolutely LOVES being outside, where shell run around and show off her zoomies. Shes also hilarious with her toys and loves tossing them into the air for herself before chasing after them.

Scout loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a confident canine companion who can help show her that the world isnt such a scary place. Having another dog to learn from and play with would be a huge confidence booster for her.

Scout has been around an outdoor cat and showed interest in playing rather than aggression. Since she hasnt lived freely with cats, we would still recommend slow, supervised introductions in a home with feline friends.

She also does well with children, but because shes sensitive to loud noises and needs a little time to trust new people, shed be happiest with kids who are old enough to understand her boundaries and let her come around at her own pace.

Scout isnt the dog who will necessarily run into your arms five minutes after meeting you—and thats okay. Shes the kind of dog whose trust you earn, and watching her become comfortable enough to run, play, and let her personality shine makes that bond even more special.

With a patient family, a confident doggie friend, and plenty of love, Scout has everything she needs to continue building her confidence and become an incredible companion.
