If there has ever been a dog who was given the wrong name based on appearances alone, it's this guy. Toads are bumpy little amphibians. This Toad? He's a squishy, velvety-soft, bundle of love whose biggest flaw is that he cannot stop smiling, even when it is uncalled for! Like during his intake exam with our vet: he was just too happy for a dog getting poked!

Toad comes to us from Alabama. In April, he was brought into an Alabama animal control, but thankfully not too long after that a local rescue took him in and he was able to spend the last couple of months in a foster home, waiting for adoption or a ride up north!

At just 10 months old, Toad is still puppyish, but don't mistake his goofy looks for a rough-and-tumble frat boy personality. Toad is about as far from a "macho man" as you can get. He's sweet, affectionate, and has the kind of gentle soul that makes everyone around him relax. He adores people, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and would much rather lean into you for cuddles than try to prove how tough he is. He's the kind of dog who greets you with a wiggly body instead of a booming bark!

Toad is still growing into himself, learning about the world, and discovering that life can be pretty wonderful when you're surrounded by people who are kind.

We think his confidence will continue to blossom in a home where he can enjoy plenty of walks, playtime with canine friends, and, of course, lots of couch cuddles.

Toad's adoption fee is $300. This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
