Riya - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Riya is a small, stout, silky-smooth senior sweetheart who may occasionally resemble a sentient potato, but this sweet girl still has plenty of spunk left in her-and tail wags!

Her previous family describes her as friendly, loving, and laid-back, and her foster is already seeing that same sweet nature firsthand: "Riya has been super sweet so far. She really loves being near me and has some good pep. When she is up she has good energy and really likes pets."

Riya enjoys the finer things in life, including leisurely walks, little adventures, some pets, and plenty of time to simply hang out with her people. And when the mood strikes, this golden gal will be sure to surprise you with a serious case of the zoomies! As she works toward a healthier weight with some extra activity and well-deserved walks, we suspect her "fitness program" will become even more impressive.

Because Riya is working on her weight and has medial patellar luxation, a home that isn't too stair- or climb-heavy would be especially helpful for her, allowing her to get around comfortably without putting unnecessary strain on her legs. She also has dry eye and will need daily medication for life, but she takes it like the trooper she is!

Whether she's strolling beside you, enjoying a cozy day at home, soaking up some pets, or suddenly deciding it's time to GO GO GO, Riya is ready to show you that getting older doesn't mean losing your sparkle. She's sweet, affectionate, easygoing, loves being close to her people, and still has plenty of life-and zoomies-to share.
