Prince - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

All hail Prince! He may be smaller in stature, but this sweet, scruffy little guy has plenty of personality fit for royalty. He's a spunky, charming lad who is looking for his forever kingdom!

Prince's previous owner made the incredibly difficult decision to surrender him because frequent travel and a busy work schedule made it hard to give him the companionship and structure he needs. And now that he's aging gracefully into his golden years, Prince is hoping to find someone who will help him settle into a predictable routine and remind him that he's still very much a VIP.

This royal does not always appreciate being left to rule the castle by himself for too long, and he has a history of finding ways to escape when left on his own for extended periods of time-especially when boredom or anxiety sets in. Otherwise when being home alone for more manageable periods, he reportedly mostly used a pee pad and would sometimes also bark at sounds he heard around the house. And his future family should be prepared to help him feel safe and secure in whatever routine works best for him.

Prince loves fetch, walks, rope toys, tug, and generally getting out and about with his people. When it comes to making new pals, Prince can sometimes bark when visitors come over before having a chance to give them a sniff, and he may also need some time and space to warm up to other calm, low-key four-legged friends. Prince has also lived with cats before but apparently believes that a cat's personal space is more of a friendly suggestion... and he may try to get right into their business, so any feline roommate should be the type who genuinely enjoys canine companionship.
