DESCRIPTION

Hi... my name is Cassie.

Although around here, everyone calls me “Glasses.”

I’ll explain that part in a minute.

I’m a beautiful around 2 years old tri-colored McNab, about 36 pounds, with long skinny legs, a lanky little body, and apparently a habit of falling over whenever someone looks at me.

No, really.

Just LOOK at me.

There I go...

Belly up.

Because if there is even the slightest possibility that belly rubs are about to happen, I am NOT missing my opportunity!

But before I became this silly, belly-rub-loving girl, I was a mama.

I'm already spayed, up to date on my vaccines, microchipped and crate trained.

I will travel from northern California to Ridgefield, WA by the middle of October to live with my foster family. I can travel to Vancouver, BC if there is a potential family for me.

My adoption fee is $900 US

Here is my story:

When I came into rescue, I was severely underweight.

My body was thin.

I had puppies depending on me.

And somehow, I had to keep taking care of my babies even when I desperately needed someone to take care of me.

I can't tell you everything that happened before rescue found us.

But here's what surprised everyone...

After everything I'd been through, I still LOVED people.

I wasn't angry.

I didn't give up on humans.

I didn't stop trusting.

All you had to do was show me a little kindness, and I was ready to roll over and give you my belly.

Maybe I just knew that someday, someone would finally love me too.

Oh—and about those “glasses.”

When I arrived, I had fly bites all around both of my eyes.

They were so noticeable that everyone said it looked like I was wearing a pair of glasses.

Thankfully, my eyes have completely healed.

The glasses disappeared...

but apparently the nickname is here forever.

And that's okay.

Because “Glasses” reminds everyone of how far I've come.

Today, my puppies don't need me anymore.

They're ready for their own lives.

And for the first time, I get to think about mine.

I'm potty trained.

I have AMAZING recall.

I'm not much of a barker.

I'm smart.

I'm affectionate.

And I absolutely LOVE people.

But there's one thing I haven't really gotten to experience yet...

What does it feel like to be someone else's baby?

I've spent my time being Mama.

I've worried about babies.

I've cared for babies.

I've given what I had to babies.

Now everyone keeps telling me:

“Cassie, motherhood is over. It's YOUR turn.”

My turn to be spoiled.

My turn to have someone worry about ME.

My turn to have my own bed, my own toys, and my own family.

My turn to roll onto my back every single day and demand completely unreasonable amounts of belly rubs.

I'm spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go.

I don't need much from my forever family.

Just love me.

Feed me.

Let me follow you around.

Rub my belly whenever I dramatically throw myself onto the floor.

And please remind me every once in a while that I don't have to take care of everyone anymore.

Someone is finally taking care of me.

I came into rescue as a skinny mama who had already given so much of herself.

But that's not where I want my story to end.

I want my story to end with a family looking at me and saying:

“Come here, Cassie. You've taken care of your babies long enough.

Now you're OUR baby.”

And just so you know...

The second you say it, I'll probably roll over.

You know what to do.

Love,

Cassie
aka “Glasses”
