DESCRIPTION
Hi... my name is Spring.
I’m about 2–3 years old Havanna / Yorkie mix and only 10 pounds.
I may be tiny, but I’ve already had a pretty big job in my short life...
I'm already spayed, up to date on my vaccines, microchipped and crate trained.
I traveled from South California to Ridgefield, WA to live with my foster family. I can travel to Vancouver, BC if there is a potential family for me.
My adoption fee is $900 US

Here is my story:
I was a mama.
I came from the desert with all of my puppies.
Out there, we didn’t have much socialization. I didn’t know many people, and I hadn’t yet learned what it felt like to live in a safe, loving home.
But I had my babies.
And like every mama, I did the best I could to take care of them.
When rescue finally came for us, my coat told part of the story I couldn’t.
I was severely matted.
My beautiful blonde coat, with its gorgeous red coloring mixed throughout, was so tangled that it all had to be shaved away.
So right now, I may look a little different than I will someday.
But just wait...
My hair will grow back.
My beautiful colors will return.
And maybe, little by little, the difficult parts of my past will disappear too.
When I first meet someone new, I might be a little unsure.
Please give me a couple of days.
That’s usually all I need.
Let me watch you.
Let me learn your voice.
Let me understand that I’m safe.
And then...
Good luck getting your lap back.
Because once I trust you, I LOVE attention.
I want to sit in your lap.
I want affection.
I want to be close to you.
I want all those gentle touches and cuddles I may have missed out on before.
And I love to play too!
I do wonderfully with dogs of all sizes, and once I feel comfortable, my sweet, playful little personality starts shining through.
For so long, my job was being Mama.
Making sure my babies were okay.
Staying close to them.
Protecting them the best way I knew how.
But now my puppies don’t need me to take care of them anymore.
And everyone keeps telling me something I’m still getting used to hearing...
“Spring, now it’s YOUR turn.”
My turn to be someone’s baby.
My turn to be spoiled.
My turn to curl up in someone’s lap and know I don’t have to worry about anything.
My turn to have a warm bed, good food, toys, adventures, and a family who looks at me and sees more than the little mama who came out of the desert.
I want someone to see ME.
The sweet girl underneath all that matted fur.
The playful little dog who was waiting for a chance to come out.
The 9-pound lovebug who just needed a few days to learn that people could be kind.
Someday my coat will grow back, and you’ll see those beautiful red colors mixed through my blonde fur again.
But the biggest transformation has already started...
I’m learning what it feels like to be safe.
Now I’m ready to learn what FOREVER feels like.
So if you have a little patience, an available lap, and enough love for a tiny mama who has spent long enough taking care of everyone else...
Maybe you could take care of me now.
My name is Spring.
My babies have had their mama.
Now I’m hoping it’s finally my turn to have a family.
Love,
Spring
