Hi... my name is PonPon.

I’m only 10 months old, but I already know what it feels like to be alone in a very big world.

I'm already spayed up to date on my vaccine and microchipped.

I will travel from Turkey to Vancouver, BC by the middle of October to live with my foster family.

Here is my story:

Not long ago, I was living on the streets in Istanbul, Turkey.

I was sick, scared, and trying to survive however I could.

One day, someone found me sitting in a tree.

Maybe I climbed up there because I was frightened.

Maybe I was looking for somewhere safe.

Maybe I was just hoping someone would finally notice me.

And someone did.

They looked up, saw a sick little tabby who desperately needed help, and instead of walking away...

They chose me.

They brought me inside.

They took me to the vet.

They helped me get healthy.

I received all my vaccinations, I was neutered, and for the first time, I began learning what it meant to live inside a home.

That was about three months ago.

And ohhhh... I REALLY like this indoor-life thing.

I discovered toys.

I discovered playing.

I discovered that humans have hands specifically designed for petting cats. At least, I’m pretty sure that’s what they’re for.

But most importantly...

I discovered what it feels like to be loved.

I am a complete love bug.

I LOVE people.

I love being petted.

I love being held.

And one of my favorite places in the entire world is curled up in someone’s arms, sleeping peacefully on their chest.

Can you imagine?

Not long ago, I was a sick little kitten sitting alone in a tree.

Now I know the sound of a human heartbeat beneath me while I fall asleep.

I know what warm arms feel like.

I know what it means to close my eyes without worrying about what might happen next.

And now that I know what love feels like...

Please don’t ask me to forget it.

I don’t want to go back to the streets.

I’ve learned that food can appear in a bowl every day.

That toys are meant to be chased.

That a home is warm and safe.

And that sometimes a person can become your whole world.

I’m playful, curious, lively, affectionate, and incredibly people-oriented.

When I love someone, I LOVE them.

I bond deeply with my humans, and all I really want is a person of my own to adore.

I’ve already been rescued from the streets.

Now I’m waiting for a different kind of rescue...

Someone to give me forever.

I don’t need a tree to hide in anymore.

I just need a warm home.

A pair of loving arms.

A chest to curl up on.

And a heartbeat I can fall asleep listening to every night.
