Hi! My name is Charlotte.

I’m about 1–2 years old, German /Australian shepherd mix 55 pounds, and apparently I’m what humans call a “gorgeous blonde.”

I have big upright ears, a spotted tongue, long Shepherd legs, and enough energy to make sure life with me is NEVER boring!

I'm already spayed, up to date on my vaccines, microchipped and crate trained.

I live in Walla Walla, WA with my wonderful foster family but I can travel to any where in WA, OR or even Vancouver, BC if there is a potential family for me.

Here is my story:

But before I tell you about myself, there’s something I wish I could tell you first...

Where I came from.

I was found as a stray.

I can’t tell you where I lived before.

I can’t tell you if I ever had a family.

I can’t tell you how long I was out there on my own.

And I can’t explain why nobody came looking for me.

That part of my story will probably always be a mystery.

But I don’t want my past to be the most important thing about me.

Because I’m much more interested in what comes NEXT.

And hopefully, what comes next is YOU.

Now, there is something extremely important you should know before adopting me...

I. LOVE. TOYS.

Treats are nice.

Food is fine.

But bring out a toy and suddenly you have my FULL attention.

Want to become my best friend?

Bring a toy.

Want me to look at you?

Toy.

Want to make my entire day?

Definitely toy.

I’m housebroken, sweet, confident, playful, and full of energy.

I love being with my people, and I would absolutely LOVE a family who wants an adventure buddy.

Walks.

Hikes.

Playing outside.

Training.

Exploring.

And then, hopefully, coming home together at the end of the day.

I’m still learning some things.

My leash manners need work, and sometimes all this Shepherd enthusiasm gets ahead of me.

I don’t need someone who expects me to already know everything.

I need someone willing to TEACH me.

Give me consistency.

Give me structure.

Exercise my body AND my brain.

Show me what you expect from me, and give me the opportunity to become the incredible dog I know I can be.

I get along with other dogs, although I can be a confident girl and sometimes a little dominant in my play.

And those tiny furry animals?

Well...

My chase instinct says that we probably shouldn’t live together.

So a home without small animals will be best for me.

But what I’m really ready for is something I may never have had before...

MY PERSON.

Someone who sees my energy and thinks, “Adventure buddy.”

Someone who sees that I need training and thinks, “We’ll learn together.”

Someone who understands that underneath all this energy and confidence is a young girl who simply wants somewhere to belong.

I don’t want to be Charlotte the stray anymore.

I want to be Charlotte who has a family.

Charlotte who has a favorite toy waiting at home.

Charlotte who knows which bed is hers.

Charlotte who gets excited when she hears her person coming through the door.

Charlotte who never has to wonder where she belongs again.

I have so much life ahead of me.

So many walks to take.

So many adventures to experience.

So many toys to destroy... I mean, respectfully play with.

And so much love to give.

I just need someone willing to give me the chance.
