Meet Millie, our big little hippie chick!

Millie is a 2-year-old Mastiff mix who may be on the smaller side, but she has a heart big enough to fill a room. Her beautiful salt-and-peppery muzzle might have you guessing that she's an older girl, but she's just two! And that adorable nubbin tail? It may be short, but Millie wags it with such enthusiasm that her whole booty shakes. You'd think that little tail weighed 100 pounds!

Millie is one of the gentlest, sweetest girls you could ever hope to meet. She is mellow and pleasant around other dogs and absolutely loves people. She's happiest when she's close to a human, soaking up affection and cuddling. And if you're willing to give belly rubs, Millie will be your new best friend.

Millie wound up at Chicago Animal Care and Control as an owner surrender when her family no longer had the resources to care for her. When we first saw her in her kennel, she was clearly sad and overwhelmed. She didn't get up to greet us, but even then, her little nubbin tail was wagging.

When we returned a few days later, Millie easily got up and happily headed out for a walk with us. It was wonderful to see her starting to come out of her shell. Once she has a little time and kindness, this sweet girl is ready to show you just how lovely she is.

Millie is all about good vibes, gentle affection, and love. She's an easygoing, happy soul who would love nothing more than a cozy home, a loving family, and plenty of cuddles and belly rubs.
