Meet Charlie Brown!
Charlie Brown is a 2-year-old Chocolate Lab who came to us through absolutely no fault of his own. His owner was diagnosed with cancer and had to move in with relatives, and unfortunately, Charlie wasn't able to come along. So now this big brown goofball is looking for a new family to call his own.
And if you've ever met a Lab... you pretty much already know Charlie.
He is happy-go-lucky, bubbly, friendly, and has absolutely never heard of a stranger. Charlie approaches life with the enthusiasm of a dog who firmly believes every person is a friend, every snack is meant for him, and every ball thrown within a three-mile radius is legally his property.
We were told that Charlie is house trained, crate trained, good with other dogs, and good with kids. He's an all-around social guy who should transition pretty nicely back into family life.
There is, however, one important disclaimer regarding children:
If someone picks up a ball, Charlie is getting that ball.
Does he care that you're six years old? No.
Does he care that you thought it was your ball? Also no.
Will he consider approaching the situation delicately? Absolutely not.
There's no malice behind it-Charlie is simply a Lab, and retrieving is serious business.
Charlie is also what we would politely describe as a food guy. At a whopping 104 pounds, there is currently a little more Charlie Brown to love than there probably needs to be. He's naturally a big boy, but a healthier weight for him would likely be somewhere around 75-80 pounds. His future family should be prepared to help him shed some pounds with appropriate portions, exercise, and perhaps the emotional strength necessary to resist the heartbreaking eyes of a Labrador who insists he hasn't eaten in weeks.
Charlie may strongly disagree with this portion of his adoption summary.
At just 2 years old, Charlie has so much life ahead of him. He's goofy, affectionate, social, and ready to get back to what he knows best-being somebody's dog.
Charlie Brown didn't lose his home because he did anything wrong. Life simply changed around him.
Now he just needs someone willing to give this big, bubbly Chocolate Lab his next chapter.
