Meet Daisy, a sweet 5-year-old Basset Hound who is looking for a second chance at the comfortable, loving home she deserves.
Daisy came to us after her owner found themselves no longer able to provide the care and attention she needed. She had been loved and cared for, but circumstances changed, and making sure Daisy received the veterinary care and quality of life she deserved became increasingly difficult. She originally came to Claws & Paws in December 2023, and after spending time in a home, she has now found herself back with us.
And honestly, Daisy is having a tough time understanding why she's back in a kennel. She is a very sweet girl who loves people and attention, and the shelter environment is simply a lot for her. We think she'd much rather be curled up beside her person than watching the world go by from a kennel.
Daisy reportedly gets along well with both dogs and cats. She has never shown aggression, although she may occasionally growl over food, so feeding separately is recommended. She has lived outdoors and hasn't been in a house recently, so her future family should be prepared to give her some time and patience as she adjusts to indoor life and relearns the basics. She has walked on a leash in the past and should be able to get back into the routine with some practice.
Most importantly, Daisy is just a sweet girl who needs someone to give her a chance. She has already experienced having a home, losing that home, and now the stress of being back in a shelter. We would love nothing more than to see Daisy walk through our doors one more time-but this time, on her way to a forever home.
Daisy is ready for a fresh start. Could you be the person who gives it to her?
