Meet Yuri A Sweet Soul Ready for Her Forever Home!

Yuri is a 6.5-year-old female who is currently staying in a private shelter, patiently waiting for her chance to find a loving family.

Yuri's story began 6.5 years ago when her mother, Bella, was found giving birth to five puppies while covered in blood and abandoned. Thankfully, they were rescued, and Bella and three of her puppies found happy homes in the United States. The other two puppies stayed in Korea, and one of them is our beloved Yuri.

Yuri was initially adopted by a young family who raised her in an apartment. Unfortunately, her life took a difficult turn when she was sent to live at a rural home with their parents. There, Yuri was kept tied up outdoors and left neglected. Thankfully, she was rescued again, and now shes looking for her second chance to find a family who will love and care for her unconditionally.

Yuri's personality is as bright as her spirit! She absolutely adores people, food, and playing fetch with her favorite ball. She has a gentle and loving nature, making her a perfect companion for anyone ready to give her the home she truly deserves.

### Please Note###

*Yuri is currently living in a foster home in Korea. Once she is adopted, she will be transported to the U.S. Because of this, we are unable to arrange in-person meet-and-greets. We are happy to provide detailed information, photos, and videos to help you get to know her.
* We do not recommend leaving dogs alone for more than 4 hours. If you expect to be away longer, we strongly encourage doggy daycare or another appropriate care option.
* We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 8 years old.
* Applicants must be at least 25 years old and live within a 45-minute driving distance of Springfield, Virginia (Northern Virginia and the Washington, DC suburbs only).
* A home check is required before adoption.
* Applicants must have a social media account so we can receive post-adoption updates. We monitor all adopted pets to ensure they continue to thrive.
* Once your application is approved, we will request a copy of your identification through a secure app and/or complete a background screening.

An HDP volunteer will contact you after carefully reviewing your application. Please allow a few days for the review process.

Many of our rescue dogs had very little socialization before entering our program. As a result, skills such as house training, leash walking, and adjusting to family life may take a little extra time. Patience, understanding, and gentle guidance are essential. The good news is that most of our dogs adapt remarkably well, and helping them blossom into confident family companions is an incredibly rewarding experience.

The Chow Chow, a distinctive breed known for its lion like mane and unique blue black tongue, originated in China over 2,000 years ago. These aloof yet loyal dogs are known for their independent nature, dignified demeanor, and protective instincts. Chow Chows require early socialization and training to thrive in a family setting, as they can be stubborn and territorial. With a dense double coat that requires regular grooming and a history as ancient guardians and hunting companions, the Chow Chow remains a fascinating and enigmatic breed in the canine world.

The Jindo, a Korean native breed renowned for its loyalty, courage, and intelligence, is highly prized for its unwavering loyalty to its family. This medium sized, spitz type dog has a distinctive double coat that sheds seasonally. Known for their independent nature, Jindos require early socialization and firm, consistent training. With a strong prey drive and territorial instincts, they excel as hunters and watchdogs. Their deep bonds with their owners make them loving companions, albeit not suitable for inexperienced owners.
