Name: Doo-yoo
Breed: Jindo Mix
Age: 2.5 years
Gender: Female
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Weight: 38lbs
Rescue Story:
On December 24, 2023, Doo-yoo's mother, a stray dog in Jeju Island, gave birth to a litter in the mountains. Unfortunately, Doo-yoo was the only survivor after a harsh winter rain. Desperate to save her, the mother dog brought her down to a village where a kind person took them in. They cared for the mother and Doo-you in a corner of their restaurant. However, without a foster home, they faced returning to the streets. To prevent this, Doo-yoo was moved to a temporary foster home with Rescue Beyond for two months.
Doo-yoo is a sweet, affectionate puppy who loves people of all ages! She is friendly with men, women, children, and dogs both big and small. She hasn't lived with cats, but when she notices them outside she is calm and shows no aggression.
When its time to rest, she is happy to curl up for a nap after playtime. She walks well on leash, rarely barks, and has no separation anxiety. She is an easygoing pup who thrives on love and attention.
**Adoption Fee:** $475
### Please Note###
*DooYoo is currently living in a foster home in Korea. Once she is adopted, she will be transported to the U.S. Because of this, we are unable to arrange in-person meet-and-greets. We are happy to provide detailed information, photos, and videos to help you get to know her.
* We do not recommend leaving dogs alone for more than 4 hours. If you expect to be away longer, we strongly encourage doggy daycare or another appropriate care option.
* We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 8 years old.
* Applicants must be at least 25 years old and live within a 45-minute driving distance of Springfield, Virginia (Northern Virginia and the Washington, DC suburbs only).
* A home check is required before adoption.
* Applicants must have a social media account so we can receive post-adoption updates. We monitor all adopted pets to ensure they continue to thrive.
* Once your application is approved, we will request a copy of your identification through a secure app and/or complete a background screening.

Many of our rescue dogs had very little socialization before entering our program. As a result, skills such as house training, leash walking, and adjusting to family life may take a little extra time. Patience, understanding, and gentle guidance are essential. The good news is that most of our dogs adapt remarkably well, and helping them blossom into confident family companions is an incredibly rewarding experience.
*** About us ***
Hope For Donghae Paws(HDP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to bringing rescue dogs from Korea to the US and finding permanent homes for them. It is true there are many animal lovers in Korea, but still many dogs suffer and are killed for food.
Our mission is to find US homes for mixed-breed dogs whose chances of being adopted in their native Korea are very low.
