About Sunny
Sunny had a difficult start in life. She was found at a city shelter in Ulsan, South Korea, where she gave birth to three puppies. Sadly, only one puppy survived in the harsh conditions, and Sunny was rescued just in time before euthanasia. Initially terrified of people and new environments, Sunny has spent over a year learning to trust and feel safe. She is now ready for a loving home that will appreciate her gentle, sensitive spirit.

Personality and Needs

Socialization: Sunny is initially shy but bonds gradually with adults and children, especially with a gentle approach and some tasty treats.
Other Animals: Friendly with other dogs, both large and small, and has shown no aggression. Shes generally indifferent to cats.
House Training: Mostly housetrained but may need a few days to adjust to a new environment.
Walking: Loves walks and is well-behaved on a leash. She responds well to gentle guidance.
Special Care: Sensitive to loud noises and may feel uneasy in new situations, but she quickly calms down with gentle reassurance.

*Sunny is currently living in a foster home in Korea. Once she is adopted, she will be transported to the U.S. Because of this, we are unable to arrange in-person meet-and-greets. We are happy to provide detailed information, photos, and videos to help you get to know her.
* We do not recommend leaving dogs alone for more than 4 hours. If you expect to be away longer, we strongly encourage doggy daycare or another appropriate care option.
* We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 8 years old.
* Applicants must be at least 25 years old and live within a 45-minute driving distance of Springfield, Virginia (Northern Virginia and the Washington, DC suburbs only).
* A home check is required before adoption.
* Applicants must have a social media account so we can receive post-adoption updates. We monitor all adopted pets to ensure they continue to thrive.
* Once your application is approved, we will request a copy of your identification through a secure app and/or complete a background screening.

Many of our rescue dogs had very little socialization before entering our program. As a result, skills such as house training, leash walking, and adjusting to family life may take a little extra time. Patience, understanding, and gentle guidance are essential. The good news is that most of our dogs adapt remarkably well, and helping them blossom into confident family companions is an incredibly rewarding experience.

With a strong prey drive and territorial instincts, they excel as hunters and watchdogs. Their deep bonds with their owners make them loving companions, albeit not suitable for inexperienced owners.
