Calypso is a 2-year-old, 60-pound scruffy Great Pyrenees mix with a gentle heart and a very rough backstory.
She was abandoned in a rural area and left to starve. When she went into heat, every intact male dog for miles apparently received the same memo, and Calypso was injured in the resulting melee. Thankfully, that chapter is over. She is now safe, healing and doing wonderfully.
Calypso is mellow, calm and affectionate. She is sweet with everyone she meets and gets along well with other dogs. She still needs to gain a little more weight, but she is otherwise ready to leave survival mode behind and settle into a home where she will be loved and properly cared for.
A securely fenced yard is required. Calypso has already spent enough time wandering the countryside. From here on out, she deserves soft beds, regular meals and people who intend to keep her.
