Weda is truly an amazing girl!
Some dogs take a little time to connect with, and some just land in your heart right away. Weda makes her way to your heart instantly. My first time sitting with her in the yard, she came to me and laid down on the grass. We quietly watched the sun set behind the trees. That will be my favorite memory of her. Weda just has a peaceful way about her.
She is one of the easiest fosters we have had. She is patient, friendly, respectful, but can be playful if you initiate playtime. She loves to zip around the yard. The more you laugh with her, the happier she is to show off her zippy moves. Weda has been a dream with her potty training, has not made one mess for us. She hasn't chewed her bed, or her stuffie babies. She does like to hide her cookies in her bed, in case she needs a little snack later.
For us, her ideal home would be with someone wanting companionship, that would enjoy getting out for some easy walks. Weda very much enjoys her walks. She is respectful on the leash, and likes to see and smell everything along the way. She prefers the company of people, but will politely wait in her room for us, or if in the yard, she will patiently wait at the door for someone to come out with her. She seems to appreciate sharing her moments with a human.
It is clear her previous home put a lot of love and time into Weda. Unfortunate circumstances brought Weda to us, and we want to do our best in finding the right home for her. We know how lucky someone will be to have her join their family.
Basics: She is a spayed female guessed to be around 3 yrs old and she weighs close to 55lbs.
Adoption Process:
- Please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application
- One of our team members will get back to you via phone.
- Our dogs can be seen by appointment only. We do not have a facility at this time. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding
- Adoption fee is $380 and helps to cover transport costs, spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip.
-We do not place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt. NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.
About Us: Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit. Since 2015 we have been dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland and the Kansas City area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Kansas City and NW Indiana areas. We also partner with other rescues and shelters in IN, IL, KS and MO that are willing to help southern pets in need. We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. Please donate if you can. Every dollar adds up and we are grateful for any help we can get: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DayoftheDogs
