Meet Tangi. She is a 3 year old, 25lb. dachshund mix.

Tangi is a very sweet, affectionate dog who loves being close to her people. She’s the kind of companion who’s happy to spend the day curled up beside you, but she’s just as ready to head out for a good walk.

She’s highly food motivated, which means she may try to help herself if given the chance, but it also makes her responsive and easy to train. Tangi is curious and interested in both people and other dogs. She would do well in a home that can give her regular walks and plenty of affection.

Tangi is crate trained and is crated at night. She's calm in the crate once she settles and she enters her crate on command (she knows it is the place she gets her treats). She prefers to be with people and loves a lot of attention but can be left alone for short periods. Tangi's new family needs to be very careful that if she is left alone, there is no food within reach because she will find it.

While a fenced yard is preferred so she can explore and exercise, a family that is able to give her a few leashed walks a day would also be suitable. Tangi rarely barks so she would be a match for a home that wants a quieter dog.

Tangi is great with kids though she needs some correction not to jump up on people when she is excited. She is sociable and pretty calm around other dogs so should be okay in a home with other dogs. She has not been tested with cats but does not show much interest in them when we are out on walks.

Tangi’s foster family thinks that she is just the best dog who will make a loyal and easygoing companion.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter .

The adoption fee also includes, at a minimum, vaccinations, de-worming, I.D. tag and microchip insertion. We gratefully accept any amount above the adoption fee as a donation used to support our mission to save as many dogs as possible.
