For six years, Gus was a much-loved companion until life unexpectedly took a difficult turn. Through absolutely no fault of his own, Gus found himself needing a new beginning after his owner fell on hard times.

Now this handsome Cocker Spaniel is hoping someone will open their heart and give him the second chance he so deserves.

At approximately 28 pounds, Gus is the perfect-sized companion—small enough to curl up beside you, yet sturdy enough to happily accompany you through everyday life.

Gus is a sweet, friendly fellow with a curious nature and a gentle heart. He enjoys meeting new people and has an easy smile that reflects his happy disposition. Despite the changes he's experienced, Gus has remained affectionate, loyal, and ready to embrace whatever comes next.

While Gus has been around other dogs, he appreciates slow, thoughtful introductions and should be allowed to get to know new canine friends at his own pace. If he is joining a home with another resident dog, an adaptable female companion would be the best match.

When Gus entered rescue, he tested positive for heartworm disease. He has since completed his heartworm treatment, and he is now neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and ready to find his forever family.
