Dixie is a beautiful 8-year-old full breed German Short Haired Pointer.
Dixie is magnificent! She has great energy, is playful and well-trained. She is intelligent, affectionate and eager to please. She knows commands like "sit, down and stay". Dixie has lived her life with a Doberman sibling and gets along well with other dogs. Dixie is crate trained, house trained, spayed and up to date on all vaccinations. She loves treats and is treat motivated!
Dixie was surrendered not because she did anything wrong, but because her owner is battling serious illness and made the very difficult decision to surrender his beloved dogs so they could get the love and care they need.
True to her German Short Hair Pointer roots, Dixie thrives when her mind and body are engaged. She will be a fantastic match for someone who enjoys staying active—whether that’s daily walks, weekend adventures, or fun training sessions. Dixie bonds deeply and loves being part of the action.
Dixie is ready to bring joy, laughter, and loyalty to a family of her very own. If you’re looking for a smart, loving companion with a dash of goofy charm, this southern belle can’t wait to meet you.
Dixie will benefit from being adopted by a dog-loving person who understands she has so much to offer but will need a little time to adjust and settle in with her new family.

Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will be updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.
We use what we think is the best dog transport service in the region and have for years - Andrea and her crew really offer first class transport!
